This is my first post on the food page and I'm so excited! My family loves to eat! Often the way we show our love is with food! I mean, it's not like we're glutinous food-pushers or anything. We also have a great appreciation for healthy, farm-raised, organic food. But what better way to bless someone than by spending your time and effort preparing them a special meal and then serving it to them? And what comes next is the best part....the fellowship that happens around the meal table! The memories made at the supper table are priceless! The stories and pieces of our daily lives shared there would not happen if it wasn't for the love and time that went into preparing the food. Cooking is a way that we express ourselves, too, and the meal table is a wonderfully safe place where children grow up and learn to express themselves and become comfortable with who they are and develop their own special communication habits and skills. So, what a wonderful thing to get to write about! Cooking, serving, eating, fellowshiping, making memories, and learning, together, how to make meal time more meaningful everyday!!!!!!!
So, my question to you is....................Who here has a mother that makes them fresh salad, blackened steaks topped with bearnaise sauce and lump crab meat, garlic and cheese mashed potatoes, french bread, and for afterwords little Santa-hat brownies?
Man! Like I said in our profile.. My mom is the bomb! We love to cook. Both of us. Tonight was a special Saturday night supper. One of the most wonderful things about it though, was that we built the hoop-house in which we grew the organic tasty salad greens ourselves, we raised the organic beef ourselves and it was out-of-this-world, and our friend and fellow-farmer grew the potatoes! How awesome is that?
So, here are a few pictures and ideas for you! I hope you enjoy and find a little bit of helpful inspiration for your special family dinners this week!!!!!!!!!!
So, I had a lot of fun doing the table centerpiece. :D Just so you know, the two tall red candles were 50cents a piece. |
